What type of photography do you specialize in?

My specialty is water photography with a focus on surfing and body boarding.

Do you take pictures from the shore or are you actually in the water?

I am in the water.

Do you use a special water camera to take your pictures?

While I do use a GoPro on occasion, I have a custom built underwater camera housing that holds my camera while I am in the water. It has special adjustments to accommodate different lenses.

Is it dangerous to take pictures in the surf?

Yes. It can be very dangerous.

Did you do anything to prepare yourself for water photography?

I have been swimming most of my life. I also boogie board and surf. I took a life guard training class and I also make sure that I do not go in the water alone.

What do you enjoy most about taking pictures?

First, capturing the perfect picture is one of the most awesome experiences you could ever have. Second, when you see the look of awe and appreciation on the face of people who appreciate your art it is priceless.
